A: All PEL's, 88, 400, and A models are about the same speed fully loaded, or unloaded at maximum speed setting approximately 3.6 inches per second up, and 4.5 in/second down. The PEL100A is slightly slower because the pitch on the screw is different. The speed can be slowed down via the touchpad speed control. PEL88, 88A, 400-57 is approximately 14 seconds raise, 11 seconds lower time. PEL 100, 100A, and 400-72 is approximately 18 seconds raise, 15 seconds lower time.

Q: How noisy is the PEL?

A: The Steel units (PEL88, PEL100, PEL400) measure about 63 dB at a distance of 1 foot from the motor enclosure. At 3 feet the level drops to about 59 dB. The units are at least this quiet when rolling too. The Aluminum units are noisier, and would have to be measured on an individual basis.

Q: How many cycles can I get on one charge and how long does it take to charge?

A: This will vary depending on how high the load is lifted, how much weight is lifted, the age of the batteries, and the battery type. The PEL88, 88A, and 100 will last about 200 cycles continuous or, 1 cycle every 5 minutes for 8 hours. Charge time is anywhere from 4 to 6 hours depending on the condition of the battery, age, etc The PEL400 will last about 300 to 400 cycles continuous or, 1 cycle every 4 minutes for 8 hours. Charge time is anywhere from 6 to 8 hours depending on the condition of the battery, age, etc.

Q: I purchased the PEL-88. Can I add the push button control myself? PEL-2PB?

A: Yes the PEL-2PB option can be installed in the field.

Q: What type of plug does the on board charger come with?

A: The charger is a 3 prong plug.

Q: What kind of batteries do the PELs use? Can they be shipped UPS?

A: The batteries for the PEL88, 100, 88A, 100A are 12 volt, 12 amp hour, AGM (absorbed glass matt) and are maintenance free, and can ship UPS. The batteries for the PEL400 are 12 volt, 33 amp hour, AGM (absorbed glass matt) and are maintenance free, and ship UPS. Two batteries per unit, wired in series.

Q: Does the PEL-400S-57-D3-KEG come with the platform or just the keg attachment?

A: The PEL unit comes with both the platform and the keg attachment.

Q: I want to use this attachment to pick up small spools of wire. How does it hold the spool in place?

A: When you turn the crank the rubber expands and grips the inside of the core. You will then be able to rotate the roll.

Q: What is the braking mechanism that holds the lift table? Is it a servo motor brake?

A: The PEL-88S-D3 uses a gear box.

Q: Does the battery charger work with both 115V and 230V?

A: Yes, the charger used on the PEL-88 can be powered from a 208-230V circuit, but the power cord that comes with the charger has a 115V, 2-prong plug.

Q: What is the lowest temperature this unit can be used in? Can it be used in a below freezing environment?

A: These are not recommended for temps less than 20°F. The battery charge will not last as long in cold temps. The PEL's are not rated for use around moisture or condensation.
